What We Do

HOME OF RESCUE FOUNDATION

We Support Children and Youth to Reach Their Full Potential

What We Do

01.

— Education and Skills Training

We believe education is the foundation of lasting change. Our programs provide access to quality education for children and youth who are at risk of dropping out or who have been out of school. We also offer vocational training, life skills development, and entrepreneurship workshops that equip young people and adults with practical skills for employment, self-reliance, and community development. This includes literacy classes, computer training, artisan skills (such as tailoring and carpentry), and mentorship programs designed to open up sustainable opportunities.

02.

— Health and Wellness Programs

We address both immediate and long-term health needs of vulnerable groups by providing health education, basic medical care, and referrals to essential health services. Our initiatives focus on sexual and reproductive health, mental health awareness, nutrition support, and disease prevention, including HIV/AIDS awareness and treatment access. We also conduct regular health screenings and workshops to empower individuals with knowledge and resources to maintain their well-being.

03.

— Advocacy to End Teenage Pregnancies and Early Child Marriages

We are committed to protecting girls from the harmful effects of teenage pregnancies and child marriages. Through community outreach, school-based interventions, and policy advocacy, we work to change social norms and practices that perpetuate these issues. We engage parents, traditional leaders, and local authorities in dialogue and capacity-building to promote girls’ rights to education, health, and a childhood free from exploitation.

04.

Gender Justice

We strive for a world where everyone, regardless of gender, has equal rights, opportunities, and protection. Our gender justice initiatives challenge systemic discrimination and empower women and girls to claim their rights. We offer gender-based violence prevention programs, legal aid, counseling services, and support networks for survivors. We also work with men and boys to foster positive masculinities and build communities grounded in respect and equality.

05.

— Climate Justice

Recognizing the disproportionate impact of climate change on vulnerable populations, we integrate environmental justice into all our work. Our climate justice initiatives promote sustainable livelihoods, environmental stewardship, and resilience-building. We engage communities in tree planting, waste management, clean energy adoption, and awareness-raising about the links between environmental degradation, poverty, and human rights.

06.

— Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns

Advocacy is at the heart of everything we do. We lead and participate in campaigns that raise awareness of human rights, social justice, and public health issues affecting marginalized groups. Using media, community forums, and strategic partnerships, we amplify the voices of the vulnerable, influence policy, and drive systemic change at local, national, and international levels.

Success Stories!

Building Safe Havens in Times of Crisis

In response to devastating heavy rains that displaced families in Sinazongwe District, we stepped in to provide immediate relief. Home of Rescue successfully built two secure shelters for affected families, offering them not just a roof over their heads but a renewed sense of safety and stability in the face of hardship.

Empowering Over 120 Children Through Education

We believe every child deserves a chance to learn and thrive. Our ongoing support program reaches over 120 children, ensuring they stay in school by providing essential items such as uniforms, stationery, and other basic needs. Through this initiative, we are helping to break the cycle of poverty and opening doors to brighter futures.

Establishing Sikuteka Community School

Recognizing the pressing need for accessible education in remote areas, we established Sikuteka Community School in Sinazongwe District. This school is a beacon of hope, providing quality education to children who previously had limited or no access to formal learning, and fostering a culture of education within the community.

Keeping Girls in School with Sanitary Pad Distribution

Understanding that menstruation should never be a barrier to education, we have launched a sanitary pad distribution program for school-going girls. By ensuring they have access to menstrual hygiene products, we are helping reduce absenteeism and promoting dignity, health, and continuous learning for girls.

Driving Change Through Advocacy

Our commitment to ending teenage pregnancies and child marriages is unwavering. We have been at the forefront of advocacy campaigns, working closely with local leaders, parents, and young people to challenge harmful traditions, raise awareness, and protect the rights of girls to education, health, and a safe childhood.
